Construction of Heart Shape Island in Sharjah

Project Name: Construction of Heart Shape Island in Sharjah
Tade: EPC
Client: Sharjah Municipality
Consultant: Artelia Group
Status: -
Scope of Work:
Elmar Marine Engineering delivered a major marine construction scope involving rock foundation works, concrete block quay wall construction, precast concrete fabrication, and waterfront safety elements.
The scope included the placement of approximately 74,000 tons of rock for foundation preparation and filling works, forming a stable base for the marine structure and supporting the long-term performance of the waterfront development.
Elmar also constructed approximately 924 linear meters of concrete block quay wall, with a height of 5.3 meters from seabed to crest. The quay wall was built to provide a durable marine edge, support berthing requirements, and withstand the demanding conditions of the coastal environment.
The works further included the fabrication and installation of 2,463 precast concrete blocks, ranging from 7 tons to 26 tons each. A total of approximately 16,650 m³ of concrete was utilized, reflecting the scale and engineering complexity of the project.
In addition, Elmar delivered the fabrication and installation of 924 linear meters of curved hand railing, enhancing safety, accessibility, and the overall waterfront experience while complementing the geometry and character of the quay wall structure.
