Project Name: Ghalillah Desalination Plant Water Intake Pipeline, RAK, UAE Tade: EPC Client: FEWA Consultant: NA Status: Completed Scope of Work: Elmar Marine Engineering delivered a specialized marine access and utility support structure extending approximately 100 meters into the sea, developed to support the installation of offshore pipelines for water desalination plant operations. The scope included the design, supply, and construction of a 100-meter-long boardwalk extending over the marine environment. The boardwalk provided safe access over water and supported the required construction activities associated with the laying, alignment, and protection of desalination plant pipelines within the marine zone. Elmar also delivered a large 45 m x 45 m thatched roof structure, rising approximately 12 meters high and weighing more than 60 tons. This prominent overwater structure served as a key architectural and functional element, combining shaded access, marine utility coordination, and a distinctive coastal appearance. The works were executed with careful consideration of marine exposure, pipeline routing requirements, structural stability, construction access, and long-term durability. The project required close coordination between marine substructure works, pipeline interface requirements, superstructure installation, roofing works, and finishing elements to ensure safe execution and reliable performance in a coastal environment.
